Andrew Parry was named head of sustainable investment at Newton Investment Management, effective Oct. 14, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Parry will be based in London and will oversee the firm's sustainable strategies and communication about responsible investment to the firm's clients. Mr. Parry will report to CIO Curt Custard.
"(Mr. Parry's) experience in responsible and sustainable investment will be hugely valuable as we continue to develop our offering in response to our clients' needs." Mr. Custard said in a news release.
Mr. Parry was head of sustainable investing at Hermes Investment Management. Leon Kamhi, head of responsibility will take on the Mr. Parry's duties and will continue to report to CEO Saker Nusseibeh, a spokeswoman said.
Newton Investment Management had £3.3 billion ($4 billion) in sustainable or ethical investments as of Aug. 31.
