Ella Hoxha was named head of fixed income at Newton Investment Management, effective July 31, according to a news release Tuesday.
Ms. Hoxha will replace Paul Brain. Mr. Brain was named deputy CIO within the firm's multiasset team, a new role. Mr. Brain will develop Newton's multiasset capabilities, contribute investment ideas and work with strategy innovation teams. He will report to Mitesh Sheth, multiasset CIO.
Ms. Hoxha will further develop Newton's fixed-income offering. Details were not immediately available.
"Ella joins a highly respected fixed-income team at Newton, and her leadership will be key to further developing our credentials in the market," Euan Munro, CEO at Newton, said in the release. "Our team-based top-down thematic approach to fixed-income investment is critical to our success as a business, and I am confident Ella will be a great fit for the role," he added.
Newton had $103 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
Ms. Hoxha is a senior investment manager at Pictet Asset Management. A spokeswoman said the firm is in the process of recruiting a replacement.
