Anthony Halls was appointed chief investment officer of Annuitas Management, the joint venture company that manages the assets of the NZ$2 billion ($1.2 billion) National Provident Fund, Wellington, and NZ$4.9 billion Government Superannuation Fund Authority, Wellington.
Mr. Halls starts in his new role on July 24, CEO Tim Mitchell confirmed.
As the new CIO at Annuitas Management, he replaces Paul Bevin, who was general manager of investments and left the role in March after 18 years with the firm.
Mr. Halls was previously the CIO at Mint Asset Management, which he left on Aug. 31 for personal reasons, according to a statement at the time. The fund manager could not be reached for comment on his replacement. In August, portfolio manager Michael Kenealy was assigned to the Mint Australasian Property Fund that was previously managed by Mr. Halls.

Before joining Mint Asset Management, Mr. Halls was employed with the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, Auckland, and BT Funds Management.
