Khalid Albdah was named as head of Middle East, North Africa and new markets at Neuberger Berman, a spokesperson confirmed.
Albdah replaces Kaveh Samie, who was named as a partner at Patient Square Capital in January 2023, as well as chair and CEO of MENA and head of international fund partnerships.
Effective in January 2025, Albdah will lead strategic development across client coverage, operations and investments in the region, and will join the money manager’s partnership committee.
“In addition to our long-established presence in Dubai, Khalid’s hire represents a pivotal step in Neuberger Berman’s ongoing commitment to the Middle East, as we strengthen our presence on the ground to better serve our clients,” Matt Malloy, head of the global institutional client group and head of Europe, Middle East and Africa, said in a news release. “His deep expertise will be invaluable as we continue to navigate the market and deliver for our investors.”
He was CEO of Goldman Sachs Saudi Arabia and co-head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management for the Middle East, North Africa and new markets, the release said. A spokesperson for GSAM declined to comment.
Neuberger Berman has $509 billion in assets under management across equity, fixed income, private equity, real estate and hedge fund strategies.
