Bartlett McCartin, principal and managing partner at asset management firm National Investment Services, has been named CEO-elect, NIS announced in a news release March 11.
He will inherit the CEO role from Robert Brooks on Jan. 1, 2026. Brooks will continue to serve as CEO throughout 2025, ensuring a seamless yearlong transition period for NIS’ clients, institutional partners and employees, the firm said.
As CEO-elect, McCartin will oversee all daily company operations and institutional relationships and assume responsibility for the leadership and long-term strategic vision of the firm.
Brooks will remain as chairman.
“NIS has been my home since 2008, and I’m thrilled and humbled to step into this role,” McCartin said in the news release.
Brooks described the transition as a “natural progression.”
“Bart has been a major contributor to NIS’ growth in recent years, both in terms of product development and the expansion of our firm’s relationships and AUM,” Brooks said in the news release.
The firm has $13 billion in assets under management, according to the news release.
McCartin has served as a principal and managing partner of the firm since 2009 and has managed multiple senior relationships and directed myriad corporate responsibilities, NIS said.
Prior to joining NIS in 2008, McCartin was the first executive vice president of construction and engineering group Aker, based in Oslo.
Brooks has been with the firm for more than 31 years, serving as CEO since 2010.
