Mike Coop was named CIO for EMEA at Morningstar Investment Management Europe, the company said Monday.
He succeeds Dan Kemp, who was recently appointed global CIO of Morningstar Investment Management.
Mr. Coop has served as Morningstar Investment Management Europe's head of multiasset portfolio management since 2017 and he will continue oversight in his new role. He is also global lead on portfolio construction best practice and global chairman for Morningstar Investment Management cross-asset research.
Mr. Coop has held positions at Prudential Portfolio Management Group, Ibbotson Associates Australia, a business acquired by Morningstar in 2005, BT Investment Management, AXA Investment Managers and Bacon & Woodrow.
Mr. Kemp credited Mr. Coop in the news release for successfully managing his team and real return portfolios "through one of the most challenging investment climates of the last century."
