Laurel Durkay was named head of global listed real assets at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, said an internal memo sent to employees provided to Pensions & Investments.
She replaced Ted Bigman, who is retiring.
Ms. Durkay will report to John R. Klopp, managing director and head of global real assets, confirmed Lauren Bellmare, a spokeswoman for MSIM, in an email.
Ms. Durkay was a senior vice president and portfolio manager for global and U.S. real estate securities portfolios at Cohen & Steers. A Cohen & Steers spokesman said although there is no “immediate need" to add another portfolio manager to the global real estate team, the company may eventually add to the team.
MSIM had $715 billion in assets under management or supervision as of Sept. 30.
