Patrick Y. Shim was named managing director of investments at Mirae Asset Securities and Investments (USA), Mr. Shim confirmed.
The position is new. Mr. Shim focuses on private equity and late-stage venture capital investments, as well as the firm's strategic investment opportunities. He is based in Los Angeles and reports to CEO Y.K. Woo.
Mr. Shim was senior vice president of corporate strategy and administration at Hana Financial. He has not yet been replaced, said Sunnie S. Kim, Hana's founding president and CEO.
