Martin Herbon joined M&G Investments as head of global banks, effective Jan.15.
The firm has had a team in place since 2010, most recently led by Ignacio Rodriguez, ahead of Americas and global banks. Following strong growth with U.S. global banks in recent years and in light of the firm's growth ambitions, Rodriguez has relocated to Miami to continue the North America, U.S. offshore and Latin American expansion, a spokesperson said.
Herbon reports to Neal Brooks, global head of product and distribution. M&G manages £342 billion ($436.1 billion) assets across all main asset classes.
Herbon leads M&G's relationships with global financial institutions, particularly with U.S. and Asian global banks and distribution teams, to align and expand M&G's partnerships across all international markets, a news release said.
Herbon was head of global financial institutions at Natixis Investment Managers. Details of his replacement could not immediately be learned.
Otto Donner was also named as head of Nordics. He took over from Robert Heaney, M&G’s head of institutional distribution for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
"Martin and Otto have a wealth of experience and relationships in their respective areas and deep understanding of the challenges faced by our clients, and how M&G's investment solutions can meet their need," Brooks said in the release.
