David Perrett and Carl Vine joined M&G Investments to lead a new seven-member Asia-Pacific equity team, the firm said Thursday.
The team previously worked at Port Meadow Capital Management, the Oxford, England-based hedge fund that Messrs. Perrett and Vine co-founded in 2014. The firm was wound down and assets were returned to investors, an M&G spokeswoman said.
Messrs. Perrett and Vine are based in London, along wth analyst Valentina Luo; head of Asian equity dealing Greg Moore, and portfolio manager Vikas Pershad. Other members of the team include analyst Eleanor Kim in Singapore and senior analyst Nick Cunningham based in Hong Kong.
Anton Oliver, M&G's head of equities, in a news release said the new Asia-Pacific equity team will "help our clients achieve the multigeography exposure they need."
Pending regulatory approval, Mr. Vine will take over management of four M&G Japan- focused funds with combined assets of £610 million ($752 million).
M&G's news release said M&G Investments is part of M&GPrudential, formed in August 2017 by parent company Prudential PLC, with £341 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
