Michael van der Meer was named head of sustainability at M&G Asset Management, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Mr. Van der Meer replaced Rob Marshall, who has decided to leave his role to "take time out and to consider his next career move," the spokeswoman said.
Mr. Van der Meer took responsibility effective July 10 for leading the stewardship and sustainability efforts, including research and integration, within the asset management business. Based in Zurich, he reports to Fabiana Fedeli, CIO of equities, multiasset and sustainability.
M&G had £344 billion ($424.9 billion) in assets under management as of March 31.
Mr. Van der Meer was head of sustainable investment analysts within Credit Suisse's global wealth management business. A spokesman could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
