Giles King was named CEO at Mayfair Capital Investment Management, effective Jan. 1, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. King will replace James Thornton, CEO and co-founder of the firm, who will step down at the end of this year. Mr. Thornton will remain with the U.K. real estate manager as non-executive chairman and will be on the firm's U.K. executive board, investment risk and remuneration committees. He also will be involved in a client relationship and new business role, as well as continuing to work on the firm's largest contract, the Property Income Trust for Charities.
Mayfair Capital has £1.8 billion ($2.4 billion) in assets under management and was acquired by Swiss Life Asset Managers in 2016.
Mr. King is executive director and a member of the U.K. executive board. James Lass, who joined Mayfair Capital in January as head of special transactions and fund manager, will take over Mr. King's primary real estate and fund responsibilities next year, the spokeswoman added.
