William Hackett, CEO of Matthews Asia, plans to retire from the money manager sometime in 2022.
The Asia- and emerging markets-focused manager is currently working on a succession plan and will likely name a new CEO in the first half of 2022, the firm said in a statement on its website.
The timing of Mr. Hackett's departure has yet to be determined. The statement said he does plan to remain with the firm for a transition period following the appointment of a new CEO.
Mr. Hackett joined the firm in 2007 as president and had previously been a partner with the global investment management practice at Deloitte & Touche.
As of Sept. 30, Matthews Asia had $28.7 billion in assets under management.
