Mr. Corbett, who has overseen MassMutual's overall investment strategy and its $220 billion General Investment Account since May 2011, will be succeeded by Eric Partlan, currently head of portfolio management, effective March 1.
Like Mr. Corbett, Mr. Partlan will report to Roger Crandall, MassMutual's chairman, president and CEO, who said in a news release Tuesday that Mr. Corbett "has played an important role in executing on our strategy and delivering outstanding investment results across our portfolios, helping us effectively manage long-term risk across various global market cycles and constantly changing economic conditions while providing value to our policyowners. We will miss Tim's innovative spirit and relentless focus on the culture, people and talent within the investment team and across the company."

MassMutual spokeswoman Chelsea Haraty said in an email there are no current plans regarding Mr. Partian's current role.
