Marathon Asset Management has appointed to new executives, confirmed Ryan FitzGibbon, a company spokesman, in an email.
Michael Schlembach has joined Marathon Asset Management as a managing director and senior portfolio manager, while Ana Jelenkovic has joined the firm as director and sovereign strategist.
Both positions are new.
Mr. Schlembach will be responsible for managing the firm’s long-only high-yield bond investment program.
Meanwhile, Ms. Jelenkovic will assist in identifying, evaluating and pursuing emerging markets debt investment opportunities. She will also be responsible for supporting the firms’ $4 billion long-only benchmarked strategy. She will report to Gabriel Szpigiel, partner and head of emerging markets at Marathon Asset Management.
Mr. Schlembach was a portfolio manager in J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s global high-yield department, while Ms. Jelenkovic was a senior sovereign analyst at Schroders Investment Management and the firm’s primary strategist covering global emerging markets.
Kristen Chambers, a JPMAM spokeswoman, could not be reached for comment. Justine Crestois, a Schroders IM spokeswoman, said that Ms. Jelenkovic will not be replaced.
Marathon Asset Management had about $18 billion in assets under management as of Aug. 31.
