Michael Kotarski was named senior managing director, and head of U.S. direct and institutional sales at Manulife Investment Management.
The position is new, spokeswoman Elizabeth Bartlett said in an email. Based in Boston, Mr. Kotarski joined the firm on May 18 and reports to Todd Cassler, head of institutional distribution for U.S. and Europe.
He was previously a senior adviser at Asian equity boutique Dalton Investments. Iain Douglas, managing director and head of marketing at Dalton Investments, said Mr. Kotarski has not been replaced.
Manulife Investment Management had $586 billion in assets under management and administration as of March 31.
