Abdul Rahman Ahmad was appointed president and group chief executive of government-linked manager Permodalan Nasional Berhad, Kuala Lumpur, effective July 1.
He returns to the role after a four-year stint as group CEO at Malaysian banking group CIMB Group. He was president and group chief executive at PNB from 2016 to 2019.
PNB had 341.6 billion ringgit ($77.4 billion) in assets as of Dec. 31, 2022.
He is expected to provide continuity and drive the execution of PNB’s newly developed strategic plan and support Malaysians’ finances across generations, the statement said.
The previous CEO, Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn, resigned earlier in the year to lead the 1.1 trillion ringgit Employees Provident Fund, Kwasa Damansara, Selangor.
