Brooke Fapohunda was named chief sustainability officer at Lord, Abbett & Co., while Emanuela Scura has assumed the role of head of ESG investment, a company spokesman confirmed in an email.
The positions are new.
Ms. Fapohunda will oversee the firm's internal sustainability efforts. She will continue to report to Kristen Maple, partner and chief impact officer.
Meanwhile, Ms. Scura will work with Lord Abbett's investment professionals to integrate ESG into the firm's investment processes. She will report to Steven F. Rocco, partner and co-head of taxable fixed income-investments.
Ms. Fapohunda serves on Lord Abbett's executive and global corporate citizenship committees and co-chairs the leader development committee, while Ms. Scura serves on the investment and global corporate citizenship committees.
Ms. Fapohunda was head of human capital management, while Ms. Scura was chief operating officer-investments and deputy director of global credit research. Rory Melick, managing director and head of employee experience, will replace Ms. Fapohunda as head of human capital management. The firm does not plan to replace Ms. Scura in her previous role.
Lord Abbett managed $235 billion in assets as of March 31.
