Eight members of Kempen Capital Management's European credit team transferred to Loomis Sayles & Co. effective Nov. 1, a Loomis spokeswoman confirmed Monday.
Rik den Hartog and Pim van Mourik Broekman will co-head the new team at Loomis Sayles, which also consists of portfolio managers Luuk Cummins, Sipke Moes, Quirijn Landman, Marco Zanotto and Ronald Schep, and Jeroen Potma, product manager.
The team is launching three euro credit investment strategies. The strategies — which include euro-denominated investment grade credit, sustainable euro-denominated investment grade credit and euro-denominated high yield — will fill a gap in the investment lineup aimed at European and Europe, Middle East and Africa clients, the spokeswoman said.
"We believe the euro credit team has the potential to add something unique and exceptional to our organization. We are excited to welcome them to Loomis Sayles and establish our presence in the Netherlands," Kevin Charleston, chairman and CEO said in a news release Monday.
The credit team is based in Loomis Sayles' new European office in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Head of credit Alain van der Heijden and portfolio manager Harold van Acht, who were also part of the team at Kempen, remain at the firm. Further details were not available.
Loomis Sayles had $328 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
