Lombard Odier Investment Managers hired three portfolio managers from Robeco to lead a new global financial technology strategy, effective Feb. 3, a spokeswoman said.
Based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, senior portfolio manager Henk Grootveld will lead portfolio managers will lead all portfolio managers on the team, including Christian Vondenbusch and Jeroen van Oerle, the spokeswoman added. The positions are new.
Lombard Odier's first global fintech strategy will be launched in the first quarter.
Mr. Grootveld was previously head of the trends investing equity team at Robeco. Mr. Vondenbusch and Mr. Van Oerle were senior portfolio managers, specializing in financial services and financial technology stocks. Robeco is in the process of selecting candidates for permanent replacements within broader trends and thematic investment team, a Robeco spokesman said in an email.
"Henk, Christian and Jeroen are widely recognized by the industry for their unrivaled expertise and strong track record," said Didier Rabattu, global head of equities, in a news release. "The creation of this team represents an important step forward for LOIM's thematic equities franchise. We are excited to strengthen our existing franchise and offer a new means to capture attractive investment opportunities and returns."
Lombard Odier IM had 52 billion Swiss francs ($52.4 billion) in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
