Shuen Chan was named head of environmental, social and governance at LGIM Real Assets, the real estate and infrastructure arm of Legal & General Investment Management, a spokesman said.
The role is new. Ms. Chan leads the firm's efforts to embed sustainability in all areas of the business, focusing on real estate equity and private credit, including infrastructure.
Ms. Chan reports to Rob Martin, LGIM Real Assets' director of strategy and ESG.
"Shuen's appointment, with her strong expertise in ESG and climate change, including a deep understanding of debt markets, marks our continued commitment to embedding ESG in every area of our business," Mr. Martin said in a news release.
Ms. Chan was co-founder of Sustineri, the spokesman said. Additional details were not available.
LGIM Real Assets had £33.4 billion ($42.4 billion) in assets under management as of June 30.
