Sam Hendel was named president of Levin Easterly Partners, a spokeswoman said in an email.
Mr. Hendel, who began the newly created role on Monday, will continue to serve on the investment team as portfolio manager.
He reports to CIO Jack Murphy and Darrell Crate, chairman.
Levin Easterly Partners was formed in April following money management holding company Easterly Partners Group's acquisition of a majority stake in the institutional investment business of long-only money manager Levin Capital Strategies.
Levin Easterly Partners has about $6.1 billion in assets under management.
