Sean Gallagher was named global head of Lazard Asset Management's small-cap equity platform.
It is a new position, a spokeswoman said. Based in New York, Gallagher will oversee Lazard's $3 billion in small-cap equity across domestic, global, European and international strategies, according to a Dec. 4 news release.
Gallagher was previously chief investment officer at small-cap and midcap equity manager Connacht Asset Management, which he founded in 2019. Joining Gallagher at Lazard from that firm will be Scott Kolar, portfolio manager/analyst. Officials at Connacht could not be immediately reached for further information.
As of Oct. 31, Lazard Asset Management had $220.1 billion in assets under management.
