Ronald Temple was named chief market strategist at Lazard, providing insights to the firm's money management unit and newly created geopolitical advisory group, effective immediately.
The role is new.
Mr. Temple will serve as a "market strategist and thought leader to Lazard's asset management and financial advisory businesses and will work closely with the firm's new geopolitical advisory group," according to a Tuesday news release.
Mr. Temple will remain in New York and report to Kenneth M. Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of Lazard, according to a spokeswoman.
He will also "continue to provide macroeconomic and market perspectives to asset management's global client base and to its investment teams on a firmwide basis," the release added.
Mr. Temple was managing director, co-head of multiasset and head of U.S. equity for Lazard Asset Management.
Mr. Temple's former roles "are being transitioned to other senior members of Lazard's Asset Management business," the spokeswoman added.
Lazard Asset Management had about $204.6 billion of assets under management as of Oct. 31.
