Lazard Asset Management hired a long/short equity team from HM Global Management focused on the technology, media and telecommunications industries.
Charles Murias and Thomas Wang, who were named directors and co-portfolio managers at Lazard, will manage their TMT-specific portfolio as a new strategy for the money manager, a spokeswoman confirmed in an email.
The strategy, which has a global focus, is unconstrained and style agnostic, Lazard said in a Thursday news release.
Officials at HM Global Management could not be immediately reached for comment.
As of March 31, Lazard Asset Management had $264.9 billion in assets under management and $3.1 billion in alternatives AUM.
