Lawrence Hanson was appointed head of sales for Asia-Pacific at the €196 billion ($216.2 billion) asset management firm Robeco, according to a statement on Sept. 11.
A spokesperson confirmed that he will be based in Hong Kong for the role, effective from Nov. 11. He will report to Malick Badjie, global head of sales and marketing at the firm.
Hanson will lead Robeco’s sales strategy in Asia-Pacific to help accelerate the firm’s ambitions and build its brand presence in the region, the statement wrote.
He will take over the duties of Graham Elliott, who was previously managing director and head of distribution of Asia-Pacific for Robeco. He left the role in May to join $492 billion Mercer as Asia Wealth Leader in Hong Kong.
Hanson was most recently managing director for Australia with Fidelity International, which has $861.3 billion in assets under management. He had been with the firm for 16 years, where he held several positions across Australia, Singapore and London. Before that, he was an executive director for the Middle East and sovereigns at UBS Global Asset Management in London.
Simon Glazier was appointed to succeed him at Fidelity International, effective Sept. 1, a spokesperson confirmed.
