Kerry O’Brien has been named global head of insurance asset management and liability solutions at MetLife Investment Management, said a Dec. 2 news release.
In her role, O’Brien will be “responsible for the execution of investment strategies for the MetLife general account, helping drive growth in MIM’s third-party insurance client channel as well as working with teams to drive liability solutions across other client segments,” the release noted.
O’Brien is replacing Ruth Farrugia, said a spokesperson for MIM.
Farrugia now serves as chief investment officer of Resolution Life, a global life insurance firm, said a news release issued on Sept. 24 by Resolution.
O’Brien formerly served as head of insurance portfolio management for North America at Insight Investment.
A spokesperson for Insight said Jim Kaniclides has been appointed head of U.S. insurance.
MIM, the institutional asset management business of MetLife Inc., had $609.3 billion in total assets under management as of Sept. 30.
