Matthew Beesley was named chief investment officer of Jupiter Asset Management, effective Jan. 1.
Mr. Beesley will replace Stephen Pearson, a spokesman said in an email.
Mr. Pearson is retiring from the London-based money manager effective March 31 and until then will work closely with Mr. Beesley to ensure a smooth transition, the spokesman said.
Mr. Beesley will report to CEO Andrew Formica and will join the firm's executive committee.
Mr. Beesley is currently CIO of Artemis Investment Management. A spokesman for Artemis said Wednesday that the firm has the matter of a replacement "well in hand" and will soon make an announcement.
Jupiter Asset Management has $83 billion in assets under management.
