Jude Driscoll was named president of MetLife Investment Management, the institutional asset management business of MetLife Inc., effective Sept. 1, said an Aug. 19 news release.
Driscoll, who formerly served as MIM’s global head of fixed income and private capital, will continue to report to John D. McCallion, MetLife Inc.’s executive vice president, chief financial officer and head of MIM.
Driscoll and McCallion will “collaborate in driving MIM’s strategy and business operations,” the release noted.
The former president of MIM, Steven J. Goulart, retired on Aug. 31. At that time, McCallion was named “head of MetLife Investment Management,” which is now the senior executive role in charge of MIM. As such, no “president” was named at that time. A spokesperson for MIM explained that McCallion effectively succeeded Goulart as the senior MIM executive, although with a different title.
The spokesperson also said Brian Funk now serves as the global head of private capital and that Driscoll “will assess fixed income leadership as part of his transition.” On April 23, MIM had combined its public fixed income and private capital segments into a unified structure led by Driscoll, who at that time was named global head of fixed income and private capital.
Concurrently, Funk assumed leadership of MIM’s private capital team, reporting to Driscoll.
Driscoll initially joined MIM in 2017 following its acquisition of fixed income asset manager Logan Circle Partners, where he served as founder, chief executive officer and chief investment officer.
MIM had $587.6 billion in total assets under management as of June 30.
