Jennison Associates expanded its Europe, Middle East and Africa client portfolio management and institutional business development teams with two new positions, a spokesperson confirmed.
Nick Samuels was named managing director, client portfolio manager, EMEA, for the fundamental active equity and fixed-income manager, effective April 1. He supports the firm’s client relationships across EMEA, reporting to Raj Shant, managing director and lead client portfolio manager for EMEA.
Samuels was most recently head of manager research at U.K. investment consultant Redington. He left the firm last year and was replaced by Oliver Wayne.
“Nick’s in-depth knowledge of investment products and his experience solving client challenges will be a strong asset for us as we engage and deepen relationships with clients across Europe,” Shant said in a news release.
Jennison also appointed Stephen Corr as managing director, business development, EMEA, effective April 1. Corr is responsible for the development and management of relationships with institutional investors across EMEA, reporting to Lori McEvoy, managing director and global head of distribution.
Corr was an investment director for international and global strategies at Baillie Gifford. Details on any replacement were not immediately available.
“Over the last few years, Jennison has been dedicated to strengthening our investment capabilities and client service as the business focuses on global growth,” McEvoy said in the same news release. “Stephen’s experience is the perfect fit to help us meet increased demand from clients and expose a broader audience to our unique investment insights and expertise.”
Jennison, which has $207 billion in assets under management, is an affiliate of $1.3 trillion PGIM. The manager will be making further strategic hires to its investment teams in the U.S. and Asia over the coming months, the release added.
