Jeffrey Jeon was appointed senior director for institutional distribution in South Korea at T. Rowe Price, the $1.59 trillion fund manager said in a statement on Sept. 2.
Based in Hong Kong, he is expected to strengthen relationships with the firm’s South Korean institutional clients. He reports to Sae Joon Choi, the head of institution for Southeast Asia and South Korea.
The role aligns with the firm’s focus on active investing and retirement investment solutions, Choi said in the statement.
“Korean institutional investors are increasingly looking for time-tested, diverse investment strategies to meet long-term retirement obligations amid market uncertainties,” Choi added.
A T. Rowe Price spokesperson did not immediately respond to queries about his predecessor.
Jeon joins T. Rowe Price from Amundi where he was the head of exchange-traded funds, indexing and smart beta sales for North Asia. A spokesperson declined to comment on his replacement.
Amundi had €2.16 trillion ($2.31 trillion) in assets under management as of June 30.
