Victoria Mio joined Janus Henderson as a portfolio manager and head of Greater China equities on Jan. 13, the firm said in a statement.
In her new role, Mio manages client portfolios and provides insights on China's markets on behalf of Janus Henderson, which had $335 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
She will relocate to Singapore from Hong Kong and report to Lucas Klein, head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific equities.
Mio replaces Singapore-based May Ling Wee, who will be leaving the company after nine years as a portfolio manager. She will work closely with Mio to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities, a spokesperson said.
Mio was head of equity research, Asia-Pacific, at Fidelity International for three years. She is best known for her time at Robeco, where she worked for 14 years, most recently as chief investment officer for China and co-head of Asia-Pacific equities.
A spokesperson for Fidelity International, which manages $714.3 billion in assets, said the directors of research who previously reported to Mio will now report directly to Marty Dropkin, head of equities for Asia-Pacific.
