Marc Pinto was named head of Americas equities, and Lucas Klein was appointed head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Asia-Pacific equities at Janus Henderson Group, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Mr. Pinto will replace George Maris, who left the firm to pursue other opportunities, the spokeswoman said. Mr. Maris did not disclose details of his next appointment.
Mr. Pinto returns to the firm, where he spent 26 years as equity portfolio manager before leaving in 2021. He will be responsible for leading the equity portfolio management and research teams based across the U.S. Mr. Pinto will start in August and be based in Denver. He will report directly to CEO Ali Dibadj.
Mr. Pinto was co-CEO of private equity firm Jove Island Capital. Details of his replacement could not be immediately learned.
Mr. Klein will replace Alex Crooke in September as head of EMEA and Asia-Pacific equities. Mr Crooke decided to dedicate himself fully to investing and will remain at Janus Henderson to continue to manage the global equity income strategy and the Bankers Investment Trust, said a news release Thursday. He will be based in London and report directly to Mr. Dibadj.
Mr. Klein was most recently global head of equity research at Fidelity International. Mr. Klein was not replaced, a Fidelity International spokesman said. Directors of research and portfolio managers who had been reporting to him will report to Ilga Haubelt, head of equities for Europe.
"Our equity businesses across the globe are at the heart of our strategy, and the changes we are announcing today demonstrate that we can attract the best talent and have an exceptionally strong bench, to help us deliver on that strategy," Mr. Dibadj said in the news release.
