Nick Maroutsos, head of global bonds at Janus Henderson Group, will leave the firm effective Oct. 1.
Mr. Maroutsos, also co-portfolio manager of the absolute return income and global multisector fixed-income-related strategies at the firm, is taking a career break.
He will not be directly replaced but the global bonds team will report directly to Jim Cielinski, global head of fixed income, a spokesman confirmed.
"We thank Nick for his contribution to Janus Henderson, his unwavering commitment to our clients, and his involvement in developing the next generation of investors," Mr. Cielinski said in a news release.
Janus Henderson has about $405 billion in assets under management.
Mr. Maroutsos is also co-founder, managing director and a portfolio manager at Janus Henderson subsidiary Kapstream Capital. Kapstream is a A$17 billion ($13.1 billion) fixed-income firm. Daniel Siluk and Steve Goldman, portfolio managers, will continue to lead the management of the majority of the firm's absolute return income strategies, the spokesman said.
