Baron Capital names global head of product development

James Stone has been named global head of product development, a newly created role, at Baron Capital.

In this position, Stone will be “tasked with collaborating across the firm to develop and implement a process for the creation and launch of new products,” including “introducing new structures, devising innovative strategies, and developing products tailored to specific geographic regions,” according to a recent LinkedIn post by the company.

For the past six years, Stone has served as director of ESG research at Baron Capital and he “will continue to maintain this role of providing research and support to our analysts, portfolio managers, and clients for the foreseeable future.”

A spokesperson for Baron Capital confirmed that Stone will retain the ESG director title in addition to his new role.

Baron Capital had $45.3 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
