David McNeil joined Insight Investment as head of responsible investment research, innovation and advocacy.
Mr. McNeil's appointment was effective Monday, a spokesman for Insight confirmed by email, adding that he will be based in London and report to Robert Sawbridge, head of responsible investment.
Mr. McNeil will be "responsible for leading Insight's responsible investment research activities," the spokesman added.
Mr. McNeil was head of climate risk at Fitch Ratings, the spokesman said. A spokesman for Fitch said by email that Aurelia Britsch will take on the head of climate risk role.
As of June 30, Insight had £725.1 billion ($881.6 billion) in assets under management.
