Kerry O'Brien was named head of insurance portfolio management for North America at Insight Investment.
It is a new position, a spokeswoman said in an email. Based in New York, Ms. O'Brien reports to Brendan Murphy, head of core fixed income, North America.
She will be responsible for leading Insight's insurance business, overseeing the manager's overall strategy and daily portfolio management.
Ms. O'Brien was previously managing director and global head of portfolio management at American International Group. AIG spokeswoman Dana E. Ripley could not be immediately reached for further information.
As of Dec. 31, Insight Investment had $786.2 billion in assets under management, of which $33.6 billion was managed for global insurance clients.
