IFM Investors appointed Neil Macdonald as head of operations in its global client solutions team, effective Dec. 4, the firm said in a statement.
Based in London, he designs and implements the operating model for IFM's sales and service functions, the Jan. 26 statement said.
IFM Investors is a long-term investment manager specializing in global private markets. It is owned by a group of Australian pension funds and managed A$217 billion ($143.6 billion) in assets as of June 30.
Macdonald reports to head of global client solutions John Gee-Grant, who joined the firm in May.
The firm has been expanding its international team. It also hired Peter Swarbreck as executive director and head of client solutions Asia in Hong Kong in September, and Armit Bhambra as head of client solutions for Europe, the Middle East and Africa based in London in July.
In November, IFM signed a memorandum of understanding with the U.K. government and committed to invest £10 billion ($12.8 billion) in the U.K. across infrastructure equity and debt by 2027.
Macdonald was most recently at State Street Corp. where he was the head of the asset management segment for Asia-Pacific while based in Hong Kong. He left the firm in May.
