Nicolas Moreau was named CEO of HSBC Global Asset Management effective in September, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Moreau had been CEO of DWS Group, the money management arm of Deutsche Bank. He left in October 2018.
Mr. Moreau is taking the reins from Sri Chandrasekharan, who will be moving into another senior role within the HSBC Group; further details were not released. Mr. Chandrasekharan will stay on to ensure an orderly transition, the spokeswoman said.
Before joining DWS in July 2016, Mr. Nicolas was chairman and CEO of AXA France and a member of the AXA's group management committee.
HSBC Global Asset Management has $503 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
