Elissar Boujaoude was named head of U.S. sales at HSBC Global Asset Management, confirmed Kathleen Bentley, a company spokeswoman.
The position is new.
Ms. Boujaoude will lead HSBC Global Asset Management's U.S. sales teams and guide the development of alternative, liquidity and sustainable investments for clients in the region, according to a news release.
She will be based in New York and report to Paul Dawe, U.S. CEO and chief operating officer, and Erin Leonard, interim global head of institutional business, the release said.
Ms. Boujaoude was head of coverage for central banks and public pensions across the Americas within HSBC Global Banking and Markets. Her responsibilities have been assumed by members of the team.
HSBC Global Asset Management had $571 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
