Stephen Vaccaro was named director of private equity at outsourced chief investment officer firm Hirtle Callaghan, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Mr. Vaccaro, who started Monday, reports to Dan McCollum, deputy CIO. He oversees private equity investments for the firm's pension, endowment, foundation, health-care and family-office clients.
It’s a new position at the firm.
Mr. Vaccaro was previously a director on the private equity team in the office of investments at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Michael Lukasek, managing director at UPenn, said Mr. Vaccaro's responsibilities have been taken on by other team members and there are no plans to replace him. The office oversees the university's $13 billion endowment and $2 billion pension fund.
Hirtle Callaghan has about $20 billion in assets under management.
