Nigel Norman was named director for Middle East distribution at Hermes Investment Management.
The role is new, a spokeswoman said. Mr. Norman is responsible for developing Hermes' relationships in the Middle East and will report into Paul Voute, head of Europe, Middle East and Africa distribution.
"(Mr. Norman) has over two decades of experience in the region, where, in previous roles, he has established several offices and led the subsequent build out of significant franchises," said Harriet Steel, head of business development for Hermes Investment Management, in a news release. His experience "puts us in a strong position to expand and strengthen the Hermes business in this region," she said.
Mr. Norman previously worked at Aberdeen Standard Investments as head of Middle East and Africa. A spokeswoman could not be reached to comment about his replacement.
Hermes had £35.8 billion ($44 billion) in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
