Jonathan Mackay will join Hartford Funds as head of distribution, effective Dec. 2, the Wayne, Pa.-headquartered manager of $142.4 billion in discretionary and non-discretionary assets announced.
He will take the sales helm from Jim Davey, the president of Hartford Funds, who was overseeing sales on an interim basis, a spokeswoman said.
Mackay will report to Greg Frost, Hartford Funds’ chief financial officer, who will take on the role of president on Jan. 1.
Mackay was head of wealth, U.S. client group at Schroders. A Schroders spokeswoman said Chris Moran, head of insurance and subadvisory, has been promoted to head of wealth and insurance, taking on Mackay’s role while retaining his previous responsibilities.
Schroders has served as a subadviser to Hartford Funds since 2016.
In addition to overseeing Hartford Funds’ distribution strategy, Mackay will work closely with Schroders and the firm’s other major subadviser, Wellington Management, “to ensure ongoing education and support for the firm’s sales teams,” according to a news release.
