Harriet Steel has been appointed to the newly created role of global head of institutional at Nuveen, said a Jan. 30 news release.
In this position, Steel is responsible for “accelerating the growth of Nuveen’s institutional business, developing business strategy to globalize our engagement with clients, leading all direct sales, asset class specialists and consultant relations personnel,” the release noted. Steel will oversee and work in partnership with a team of over 250 professionals, across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific.
Based in London, Steel reports to Mike Perry, head of global client group and global product.
Steel formerly served as partner and head of global clients at London-based private debt manager Pemberton Asset Management. Nuveen’ has $1.3 trillion in assets under management.
