Lee Purcell has joined Harbert Management as global head of capital markets.
Mr. Purcell will work with HMC's existing investors and develop new limited partner relationships, the firm said in a news release issued Thursday.
He will be based in New York and report to Travis Pritchett, president and chief operating officer, according to an email from company spokeswoman Tate Maddox.
He will assume the duties of Charles D. Miller, who was executive vice president and global head of distribution, company spokeswoman Tate Maddox said in an email. Mr. Miller will continue in an advisory role "servicing some of the firm's longstanding high-net-worth relationships," the news release said.
Mr. Purcell was global head of investor relations at real estate investment manager MARK Capital Management. Officials at MARK could not be immediately reached for information on Mr. Purcell's replacement.
Based in Birmingham, Ala., Harbert Management is an alternative asset manager with about $8 billion in assets under management as of March 1.
