Ed Francis was named managing director for U.K. fiduciary management business at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, a spokeswoman confirmed Wednesday.
The position is new. Mr. Francis is based in London and is responsible for fiduciary management offering for U.K. pension fund clients.
"Ed's recruitment is an important part of our growth plans for the U.K. fiduciary management market and demonstrates our strong commitment to delivering market-leading solutions to U.K. pension schemes," said Chloe Kipling, head of U.K. and Ireland institutional business, in a news release.
GSAM did not immediately disclose to whom Mr. Francis reports.
Mr. Francis was head of investment for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Willis Towers Watson. He was succeeded by Mark Calnan, a WTW spokesman confirmed.
GSAM's fiduciary management business had £89 billion ($123.3 billion) in assets under management as of June 30.
