Gerald Cartigny was named managing director and head of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg client business at Goldman Sachs Asset Management effective Oct. 1, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Based in Amsterdam, Mr. Cartigny will leave his role as CIO of outsourced CIO firm MN in the coming weeks.
Mr. Cartigny "has steered our investment management services into smoother waters. We regret that he will leave our firm. Still, we have confidence in the chosen strategy and we will continue to build a successful future for our fiduciary and asset management services, with our dedicated teams and the plans that are already in place," Norbert Hoogers, CEO of MN said in a news release.
MN, which manages €135 billion ($152 billion) in assets for Dutch retirement plans has started the process for Cartigny's succession, an MN spokesman said.
