Greg Konieczny joined GIB Asset Management as head of global emerging markets equities, a new strategy for the firm.
The $11 billion sustainable money management firm also hired Kunal Desai as portfolio manager for the new global emerging markets equity strategy, a news release said.
The pair started Monday, a spokesman said.
"As a sustainable asset manager, we look for opportunities to deliver strong financial returns for our clients through investments in companies that can drive our transition to a more sustainable world," said Katherine Garrett-Cox, CEO, in the release. "These issues have always been global, and as sustainability creates new opportunities in new markets, our team's deep experience of emerging market sustainability strengthens our client offering in this exciting area."
Mr. Konieczny was a founding partner of Mobius Capital Partners, responsible for creating and implementing its investment strategy. Mr. Desai also joined from Mobius; his title there wasn't given. A spokeswoman said Mr. Desai was replaced “a while back and we continue to expand our team,” with five staff on the global emerging markets team. She did not comment on Mr. Konieczny’s departure.
