General Atlantic has closed its sixth flagship growth equity fund, General Atlantic Investment Partners 2021, at $7.8 billion.
The close exceeds the initial $5 billion fundraising target, confirmed spokeswoman Mary Armstrong.
The new fund focuses on high-growth, tech-enabled global companies across the consumer, financial services, health care, life sciences and technology sectors.
Investors include the South Carolina Retirement System Investment Commission, Columbia, which manages the assets of the $40 billion South Carolina Retirement Systems.
General Atlantic had more than $78 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
