Jeremy Roberts will join GAM as head of global distribution, effective Sept. 1.
Mr. Roberts will assume some responsibilities from Tim Rainsford, group head of sales and distribution. Mr. Rainsford will leave the firm at the end of August, a spokeswoman said. GAM has also created a global head of institutional solutions role, focusing on institutional clients and covering the remainder of Mr. Rainsford's responsibilities, the spokeswoman said. An appointment will be made "in due course."
Mr. Roberts will be based in London and report to Peter Sanderson, group CEO.
"His leadership experience, enthusiasm and his passion to deliver outcomes for clients make him a great fit for GAM," Mr. Sanderson said in the release. "I am excited to welcome Jeremy to the firm to help us further build on our strong distribution capabilities. I would also like to thank Tim for his contribution to the firm and to wish him all the best for the future."
GAM had 118.9 billion Swiss francs ($123.6 billion) in group assets under management as of May 31.
Mr. Roberts was co-head of Europe, Middle East and Africa retail sales and head of U.K. retail business at BlackRock.
